How do I save a quick dial number with SYNC®*?
You can create and store a frequently called number with your SYNC system using the following instructions.
Saving a Quick Dial Number
Select your SYNC generation (gen) from the drop-down options below to learn how save a phone number to your contacts:
Note: If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.
Identifying Your SYNC Gen
Two resources to help you identify your vehicle's SYNC gen are the:
- SYNC and Navigation Updates page. Either:
- Enter your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and select Check for update.
Log in with your Ford credentials, choose a vehicle from your garage, and select Check for updates.
Note: Your SYNC gen will appear on the right-hand side of the page.

SYNC with MyLincoln Touch®
To store a quick dial number using SYNC with MyLincoln Touch:
- Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Contact.
- Tap Quick Dial.
- Choose the slot to save the number.
SYNC Gen 1.1
To store a quick dial number using SYNC Gen 1.1:
- Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Contact.
- Press and hold the preset button for the slot you want to store the number in.
- Wait for the screen to blink.
- Save the contact.
SYNC Gen 1 with Navigation
To store a quick dial number using SYNC Gen 1 with Navigation:
- Go to the SYNC Phonebook or Call History menu on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
- Select Number.
- Select Quick Dial.
- Select the slot to save the number.
*Do not drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear. Not all features are compatible with all phones.
