How do I use media devices with SYNC?

These easy-to-follow videos will demonstrate how to use your smartphone, digital music player, or other media device with your SYNC®* system, so you can enjoy all of your music wherever your travels take you.

Using Media Devices with Stored Media 

  1. Plug your device into one of your vehicle's USB ports. 
  2. Tap Audio on your vehicle's SYNC screen.

  3. Select Sources.
  4. Choose the USB option.

You can play, pause, or skip tracks on your media device with options that function similar to a traditional CD player.

Using Media Devices with Streaming Media (Pandora, Spotify, etc.)

  1. Make sure the media app is up and running on your device. 
  2. Press the Voice Command button. 
  3. Say Bluetooth Audio
  4. Say Play

Can I play music using an SD Card with SYNC with MyLincoln Touch?

The SYNC with MyLincoln Touch system includes an SD card slot that can be used for multiple things.

  • If your vehicle is equipped with certain Navigation systems, the Navigation SD card will stay in the SD card slot.
  • If the vehicle is not equipped with the Navigation option, the SD card slot can be used for media playback.
  • The supported music file types are .mp3, .wma, .wav, and .aac.
  • You will need to select the SD card as your media source.
  • The SD card slot can also be used to upload wallpaper photos.
  • The SD card slot cannot be used to playback video files.

*Don't drive while distracted or while using handheld devices. Use voice-operated systems when possible. Some features may be locked out while the vehicle is in gear.  Not all features are compatible with all phones.
