How do I change the SYNC system language?

You can change the language of your SYNC®* system using the instructions and translations contained in this article.

Updating the SYNC System Language

Select your SYNC generation from the drop-down options below to learn how to change the language your SYNC system is using.

Note: If you need assistance determining the generation of your SYNC system, select the first drop-down option.

SYNC 4

To change the language using SYNC 4:

  1. Press Settings on your vehicle's SYNC screen.
  2. Select General.
  3. Use the arrow to choose your language (English, Français, or Español).

To change the language using SYNC Gen 1.1:

  1. Press MENU.
  2. Scroll down to Display Settings, and press OK.
  3. Scroll to languages, and press OK.
  4. Choose your language (English, Français, or Español), and press OK.

SYNC Generation 1

To change the language using SYNC Gen 1:

  1. Press AUX repeatedly until SYNC appears.
  2. Press MENUMEDIA MENU will momentarily appear in the radio display.
  3. Scroll repeatedly until SYSTEM SETTINGS appears in the radio display.
  4. Press OK to confirm and enter the SYSTEM SETTINGS menu.
  5. Scroll until ADVANCED appears in the radio display.
  6. Press OK to confirm and enter the ADVANCED menu.
  7. Scroll repeatedly until LANGUAGE appears in the radio display.
  8. Press OK to enter the LANGUAGE menu.
  9. Scroll to choose your language (English, Français, or Español).
