Can manual climate controls be converted to automatic?
The differences between Manual and Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) systems go beyond the control panel or interface to include specific system parts, such as sensors and actuators. For instance, Automatic Temperature Control systems use sun-load sensors, in-car temp sensors, and ambient temp sensors that are not used with manual systems.
Additionally, the overall architecture of the air handling and fluid transport systems used with Manual and ATC controls may be incompatible. For example, most manual systems are single zone, while many ATC systems are Dual Zone. As a result, conversion from manual climate controls to an ATC system is not practical.
