How Do I Use Phone As A Key?

If your vehicle is equipped with Phone As A Key*, you can manage remote controls like start, stop, and much more using the Lincoln Way® App.**

To use Phone As A Key with the Lincoln Way App, you must:

Important: Phone As A Key works best when your smartphone has a direct line of sight to your vehicle (i.e., keep your phone “in-hand” rather than in a back pocket, handbag, or briefcase).

Using Phone As A Key Commands

Select your Lincoln Way App experience for steps to send controls using Phone As A Key.

Lincoln Way App 4.X Experience

To send remote commands to your vehicle:

  1. Log in to the Lincoln Way App.
  2. Go to the Home screen. 
  3. Locate the remote command keys under your vehicle's image.

    Note: The following controls will appear based on your vehicle model and build:
    • Windows Up
    • Windows Down
    • Horn & Lights
    • Trunk
       
  4. Press, hold, and release the respective key to send a request to your vehicle.

Lincoln Way App 5.X Experience

To send remote commands to your vehicle:

  1. Log in to the Lincoln Way App.
  2. Go to the Vehicle screen. 
  3. Select the Controls button.
  4. Tap the respective control to send a request to your vehicle:
    • Windows Up
    • Windows Down
    • Trunk

      Note: To access the Horn & Lights controls, go back to the Vehicle screen, scroll down and tap Vehicle Location.
