How do I authorize another user in the Lincoln Way App?
You can authorize other users access to remote commands for your vehicle in the Lincoln Way® App* by sending an email invite.
Important: This feature is only available in the Lincoln Way App version 5.11.0 or later.
Requirements
The invited user(s) must have a Lincoln Way App account registered under the email address where the invite is being sent.
Invite Another Driver Using the Lincoln Way App
To approve vehicle connection access:
- Log in to the Lincoln Way App.
- Go to the Vehicle screen.
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Select Vehicle Access.
- Tap Invite Driver(s).
- Enter the email address of the driver you want to invite.
- Select Invite.
- Review the prompt and confirm the spelling of the email address.
- Select Yes, Invite if you want to continue.
- Select Cancel to void your request.
- Complete your device authentication.
Note: This varies based on your device's security settings.
Once complete, the invited driver should receive an email from Lincoln informing them of the request, and they will need to accept the invite.

What app version allows me to send and receive invitations?
Lincoln Way version 5.11 supports inviting new users to access your vehicle. Both the sending and receiving users must be on version 5.11.
Can I open invitations on my desktop?
No. You must use your smartphone with the Lincoln Way App downloaded with an account created to accept invitations. The account email must match the email to which the invitation was sent.
Will I still be able to request vehicle access on 5.11 and later?
No. Starting on version 5.11, you must receive an invitation to access a vehicle that already has at least one authorized user.
When I invite someone to use my vehicle in the Lincoln Way App, will they be able to invite new drivers themselves?
Yes. Once a user is invited and accepts the invitation, they will have the same permissions as the original authorized user.
If there are access requests for my vehicle and I update to 5.11, will I still be able to accept those access requests?
Yes. You will still be able to give users access to previous versions of the Lincoln Way App.
Can I cancel an invitation after it is sent?
No. While you cannot cancel an invitation, it will expire after 24 hours, at which point you can clear it from your vehicle access page.
I just purchased a vehicle from a private party, and I can't authorize myself to the Lincoln Way App because the previous owner is still authorized. What can I do?
Simply perform a factory reset in the vehicle to clear all previously authorized users. This will allow you to authorize yourself in the vehicle.
What if I try to send more than one invitation to the same person?
You will receive a pop-up advising Unable to Send. An invitation to this driver is already pending.
