FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is Connect and Control complimentary?

Yes, but only on Lincoln models equipped with Lincoln Connect.

What do I need to do before I can start using Connect and Control?

For Connect and Control to work, your Lincoln must:
 

  1. Have Lincoln Connect.
  2. Be added to your downloaded and registered Lincoln Way App.
  3. Be activated.
How do I connect the car to the Lincoln Way App?
  1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Create a new Lincoln Owner Account or, if you already have one, just log in.
  4. Press the + and Add Vehicle to My Garage.
  5. Next, scan your vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) by selecting the camera in the app and pointing it at the VIN label on the door. You can also just type it in the field.
  6. Confirm your vehicle and you will be directed to the home screen.
  7. Touch the vehicle button and navigate to the top button that says, Activate Vehicle.
  8. After a few minutes, go to your vehicle and start it. There will be a prompt on the SYNC® center touchscreen that will ask you to confirm the association with the app.
  9. Note: If you do not confirm the app within 10 start-ups, you will have to go back into the app to reactivate.
How do I activate the Lincoln Way App?
  1. Download the app from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Accept the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Create a new Lincoln Owner Account or, if you have one, log in.
  4. Press the + and Add Vehicle to My Garage.

How do I schedule starts?

It’s simple! Just navigate to the Vehicle Details tab and scroll down to Schedule Start. Follow the prompts to set the schedule you would like.

How do I remove a vehicle from my Lincoln Way App?

Go to Vehicle tab, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and tap the Remove Vehicle button. To disable your Customer Connectivity Settings in your vehicle, tap HMI: Master Reset.

How do I troubleshoot Remote Start?

If your Remote Start is not functioning:
 

  1. Ensure you are logged in to Lincoln Way with the correct Authorized Username.
  2. Make sure your vehicle is not in Deep Sleep Mode.
  3. Check your instrument cluster to see that Remote Start is turned On. Navigate to Settings > Vehicle > Remote Start > System. Set Remote Start to On.
  4. Confirm the hood and trunk are closed.
  5. Verify the Check Engine light is off. Check the app message center for Check Engine light notifications. Check the vehicle dashboard for warning lights. Resolve any Check Engine light concerns to be able to use Remote Start via Lincoln Way App.
How do I disconnect remote vehicle access?

Lincoln provides several ways that customers can directly disconnect Lincoln Way App remote access and connected services from within the vehicle.  In addition, domestic violence victims can also, if they choose, submit a request to Lincoln to disconnect remote vehicle access by using this form.

 

Ways to disconnect remote vehicle access:

 

Note: If you are unable to perform these actions for any reason (e.g., a setting is locked), contact us at the number below.

  1. Perform a Master/Factory Reset
  2. Turn off Vehicle Connectivity setting
  3. Turn off vehicle location sharing setting

    Note: If you 1) Perform a Master/Factory Reset, 2) turn off Vehicle Connectivity setting, or 3) turn off vehicle location sharing setting, every App account connected to that vehicle will receive a notification communicating that the change has occurred.  For example, if a Master/Factory Reset is performed, every App account connected to the vehicle will receive a notification that the account has been disconnected from the vehicle.

    Also, if there are any devices plugged into the vehicle (e.g., dash cam, other cameras or accessories), you should unplug and discard them.
